MBA Alumni Event

The Honourable Peter Beattie, former Queensland Premier was the keynote speaker at JCU Brisbane’s inaugural MBA Alumni evening. Held at James Cook University’s CBD campus on Queen St Brisbane, the event attracted over 100 guests from the Brisbane business community, including a number of guests who are graduates of the weekend-based MBA program started in 2011.

Mr Beattie spoke on the need for strengthened global ties and the need to strengthen our approach to systematic innovation in Australia. Ben Wash, CEO of the Taxi Council of Queensland and a graduate of the program thanked Mr Beattie on behalf of the guests.

Kathleen Newcombe, CEO Education Group and Noel Richards Academic Head opened the evening, thanking guests for giving up part of the evening and indicating to the audience that JCU Brisbane was committed to the objective of furthering education at a Masters level for busy time-poor executives in the greater Brisbane area.

The evening concluded with an opportunity for those guests gathered to mingle and exchange thoughts, ideas and business cards.
