JCU Brisbane MBA Program Breakfast Seminar
James Cook University Brisbane hosted a breakfast for Queensland Public Sector leaders on Thursday the 24th of September. Held at James Cook University Brisbane's CBD Campus, attendees included members from the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, Crime and Corruption Commission, Department of Justice and Attorney General, Department of Health, Department of Tourism, Major Events, Small Business, Department of Housing and Public Works and the Public Service Commission.
Special Guest Speaker The Honourable Mr Peter Beattie shared his insights on governing in turbulent times: how politics, business and markets collide. In particular Peter focused on the impact of volatile and abrupt change on the ability of political institutions, particularly public sector, to govern. Peter also discussed with attendees how the JCU Brisbane Weekend MBA Program will significantly enhance leadership capability and better equip employees to turn economic challenges into business opportunities, with the skills and knowledge to become a leader and innovator in today’s highly competitive global marketplace.
Peter was the Premier of Queensland from June 26, 1998 to September 13, 2007, and has now taken on the role as Director, International Business Development at JCU Brisbane.
