JCU Brisbane Cricket Update

From the 25th til the 30th of September the JCU Brisbane Cricket team participated in the 2016 Australian Uni Games over in Perth.

This is Australia’s largest university sporting event, welcoming students from every state and territory to participate in 34 different sports.

JCU Brisbane’s Cricket team participated in the T20 Cricket; this is a competition which sees the best Australian university cricket teams battle it out in a five day test.

This year the JCU Brisbane cricket team moved from Division B to Division A.  The team left Perth with 2 wins from 5 games.  Cricket Club President, Gurmeet Singh, explained that playing against stronger teams was tough but it provided an opportunity for the team to test their skills and bond!

“Ultimately, playing in Division A was an achievement for us as a team! We played against teams like UTS and UNSW who were sitting in the top positions last year.  It was a really rewarding experience to know that we provided tough competition despite having a relatively new team of players.”

Congratulations to the boys on a great week of Cricket!
