JCU Brisbane Cricket Team Heads to Perth

On Sunday the 25th of September, the JCU Brisbane Cricket team boarded a plane bound for Perth to participate in the 2016 Australian Uni Games.

The Australian Uni Games is the largest university sporting event and is expecting more than 5,600 students from all around Australia to participate in 34 different sports.

This year, JCU Brisbane’s Cricket team will participate in the T20 Cricket.  This is a competition which sees the best Australian university cricket teams battle it out in a five day test, from the 25th til the 30th of September.

In Monday’s rounds, JCU Brisbane played two games.  The first round saw the boys battle it out against the University of Technology Sydney where we had a loss of 98 to 99.  The second round, the boys secured a win of 46 to 44 against Melbourne's La Trobe University.

The JCU Brisbane Cricket Team will continue to play against other Australian universities on Tuesday the 27th September and Wednesday the 28th September.  The JCU Brisbane team is currently sitting in third position; this is a great start to the competition with the team working towards their goal of securing a spot in Thursday’s semi-final!

For further information on the results, please visit the Australian Uni Games website.

We wish our Cricket team the best of luck in the 2016 Australian Uni Games over in Perth!
