JCU Brisbane Alumni Event - 2014

 

On Thursday the 13th of August JCU held their annual MBA Alumni Event. The event which invites past graduates of JCU to network with fellow graduates was held at Old Government House, QUT Garden Point campus.
Over the course of the evening guests enjoyed canapes and drinks whilst mingling with other attendees. Later in the night event MC, JCU Alumnus Zane Bojack, introduced speakers for the night. Zane studied Journalism at JCU and is also the anchor man for ABC Radio Granstand.
James Cook University Chancellor Lt. Gen. John Grey AC (Retired) gave his Welcome speech and shared with fellow attendees proposed developments to be made to the Townsville campus and structural change within the organisation.
Guest Speaker for the night was JCU Alumnus Mr Murray Saylor.  Murray shared with the audience his experience studying at JCU and how a JCU qualification has helped develop his career. Murray realised at a young age that he wanted to break the welfare cycle and challenge the negative stereotypes about Indigenous Australians and create his own destiny. As a mature aged students he enrolled at JCU to study a Bachelor of Business which kick started his professional career. Now living in Brisbane, Murray manages his own business, Tagai Management Consultants, which specialises in providing a broad range of management consultancy services to small and medium enterprises, government agencies, resource sector companies, communities and other customers seeking a collaborative results driven service provider.
