Congratulations to our Conference and Event Management Students
Last month, twenty five JCU Brisbane Bachelor of Business students were hired by the RNA to volunteer at the Ekka. The students are currently studying Conference and Event Management, and as part of the subject’s assessment students were required to work in an event role. The students worked in the education department volunteering in exhibits such as grain chain, kids farming patch and kids cooking classes. Their jobs were to explain the exhibits to the kids and parents as well as help out with various activities in those exhibits.
The main purpose of this activity was to provide students with hands-on experience in the events industry, this proved to be a beneficial exercise which allowed students to apply theoretical knowledge to a real event.
The Ekka is one of Queensland’s largest annual events, what better way for our students to demonstrate their knowledge. The students had a great time working at this event and learnt valuable skills. Thank you to the RNA for allowing our students to demonstrate their event management skills and congratulations to the Conference and Event Management students who participated.
